Contexts of stress

Certain moments in life put us under more tension and stress: end-of-year periods, exam periods, health issues, professional or familial changes, etc.

Stress is part of our lives, even in the most positive periods. Sometimes the pressure is such that we no longer have time to take care of ourselves or our loved ones. And sometimes we don't even realize that our body stores all our stress and emotions. Then come the physical symptoms, palpitations, tremors or sweating, muscle pain and tension, sleep difficulties or problems with our relationship to food, and occasionally exhaustion and burnout.

We cannot completely avoid stress, but it is possible to suffer less from it, by learning new ways to deal with it differently. Tools and strategies exist and can allow us to face life as calmly as possible.

Strategies and tools for managing stress

I provide tailor-made sessions for every one of my clients. This means that you will have the opportunity, at each session, to express how you feel and what you need. Then taking that into account, I will adapt all the tools and strategies to your unique situation and needs.

One of the approaches is to work on the physical symptoms of stress. First, I like to explain the mechanism of stress. Understanding the physiology of stress will allow you to better do the exercises that help decrease the symptoms. Then, learning breathing exercises, meditation tools, as well as guided hypnosis and self-hypnosis can be relevant depending on each client's needs at the moment of the session.

My goal is to adapt the tools so that you can use them easily and autonomously.

In some situations, if the client wishes, we can also work in parallel on the causes that provoke the stress. Targeted strategies as well as guided hypnosis and learning self-hypnosis are very effective to approach the situation from this angle.

Finally, it is essential to integrate the context in which stress manifests itself, to customize strategies for each situation. For example, people may need different methods to prepare for an exam, to manage tension at work, or at school.
